PRESENTATION

Clémentine Cottineau is a geographer and permanent researcher from CNRS at the Centre Maurice Halbwachs. After studying economics and geography and producing a doctoral thesis on the particularity of post Soviet urbanisation and working as a post-doc on the processes of urban scaling and local business networks, she now focuses on investigating multiscale economic inequality and the role of geographical space in the mechanisms generating and affecting inequalities. To that end, she uses quantitative methods of spatial analysis and econometry, but also complex system analysis and agent-based modelling. She is also a honorary Research Associate at CASA (University College London) where she worked as a post-doc (2014-2017) and at the laboratory Géographie-cités, from which she worked at a PhD student (2011-2014), under the supervision of Denise Pumain.
